Management of opportunities for local businesses and resettlements Galeno mining project, Peru 2009 to 2011
We work with 96 local companies, which expanded their business to the regional market beyond the project. In 3 years of consulting, the companies managed not only to formalize, but also to be competitive in quality and price.
The companies generated around USD 10 million in sales, the amount paid in taxes grew by 700% and the number of formal workers doubled.
Land negotiation and resettlement
We support the negotiation and acquisition of 2,515 hectares in the high Andean areas of Cajamarca. Of the 298 land sellers, 68 families were identified as requiring resettlement.
Care for the vulnerable population and restitution of livelihoods
Vulnerable families accessed replacement farms with greater productive capacity, prioritizing group resettlement to maintain support networks.
Technical assistance and training were provided for family productive projects. The process was exposed in annual international audits.
